This book is written by the doctor who performed the Stanford Prison Experiment. He discusses the experiment and its implications in detail. It explores the issue of how situations can influence good people to commit evil actions. The book explores how to rise above situational influences into a hero role as well. Other situations discussed include the genocide in Rwanda, the actions of Nazi doctors during World War II, and the torture and abuse that took place in Abu Ghraib.
This book contains the fairy tales known as Grimm’s Tales. Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, and over two hundred more tales appear. It is very interesting to read the original stories as there are many differences from the respective Disney renditions.
Love & Respect: The Love She Most Desires; The Respect He Desperately Needs; Emerson Eggerichs
WorldCatThis book describes the crazy cycle that many couples find themselves in and seeks to show husbands how to better love their wives and wives how to better show their husbands respect. The acronym C-O-U-P-L-E is used for the concepts of love: Closeness, Openness, Understanding, Peacemaking, Loyalty, and Esteem. The acronym C-H-A-I-R-S is used for the concepts of respect: Conquest, Hierarchy, Authority, Insight, Relationship, and Sexuality. I thought this book gave an insightful look into the differences of men and women and what they each most desire.
